KV Oostende vs Club Brugge
League: Belgian Pro League Group stage
Date: Thursday, 18th May 2017
Time: Kick off at 19:30
KV Oostende is still in the fight for a European ticket. The highest achievement is the fourth place in Play-Off I after losing cup win. In the ranking, the fifth is equal to the number of points with Charleroi, which manages fourth place. So it will be very exciting last 180 minutes of the season. Provided a victory at Zulte had turned them off for fourth place.
But Zulte could win a victory in Play-Off I for the first time. Too bad for KV Oostende, but the victory was more than deserved. After almost four minutes, KVO looked back on after a goal from Onur Kaya. Oostende could recover quite quickly, but returned to retreat just before rest. With 2-1 the rest could be picked up, but Mbaye Leye decided with a free kick to put the final score on the board just before the fluke signal to make coffee, 3-1. Because in the second half the match remained scoreless.
A dump for Oostende because in that way Zulte-Waregem returns to fourth place. With the last home match for the bow to Club Brugge, it does not want to be less than the three points. Whether Anderlecht is or is not a champion, because Oostende will have to go to the Astridpark. In other words, a difficult assignment for Oostende to be fourth in the end of the Play Offs.
Club Brugge KV :
For Club Brugge, the title seems to be missing out on them. The whole season was Club Brugge at the headquarters, yet Anderlecht started as a leader on the Play-Offs. With two to twelve, it seemed like over and over for Club Brugge, but after a strong nine at nine, the difference with Anderlecht was reduced back to four points. Last week, they had to make up for what the final matches of the season would be.
Each one goal via a free kick. That was the result of a Sunday afternoon full of tension and title stress, especially at Anderlecht than. Anderlecht came to lose weight and succeeded in that. Club Brugge tried but could not create enough opportunities to claim victory. Almost everything was wrong and Youri Tielemans could get the title break through a penalty kick, but this was taken very slowly. 1-1 turned out to be the end result and Club Brugge did not shoot anything. A win was necessary because now Anderlecht has enough of two points in the remaining matches while Club has six to six.
Nevertheless, it is not self-evident to get six to six in Play-Off I. With matches on moving to Ostend and at home against KAA Gent, it does not seem to happen immediately. All that Club can do is go ahead. Place two is a security so there is nothing to lose. In the front line, Club managed to easily win 3-1, a repeat of that performance will not be, because Oostende is a pack stronger for its own public.
