Italy vs Uruguay
Date: Wednesday, 7th June 2017
Time: Kick off at 20:45
Venue: Allianz Riviera
On Wednesday, Italy and Uruguay meet in the Allianz Riviera of the French Olympique Nice. The Italians stuck in a good shape and last week San Marino treated an 8-0 defeat. That can not be said of Uruguay that has already lost four times in a row. Who wins this friendly pot?
On Sunday, Italy is facing the qualifying match against Liechtenstein on the program. The Italians have a heavy poule with Spain as a direct competitor, so the Italians can not afford a point loss, because only the winner of the pile places himself. Italy practiced last week against the selection of San Marino. The big names were still missing, but the B-team did not have a child to the city state. It was 8-0 in Italian advantage with a captain of Milan’s Gianluca Lapadula who had a hat trick. Andrea Conti was important by delivering three assists.
Despite the long season of Juventus and the relatively insignificant matches, Juventus’s vedets just appear. Liechtenstein home is of course important, but that match can also win the Italians without the top players. Gianluigi Buffon: ‘It is always a pleasure to come to the national team. The goal is now to close the season well. “Italy can not have Marco Verratti against Uruguay and Liechtenstein. The PSG midfielder is suffering from his right hand and has therefore left the national team.
Óscar Tábarez, who won the World Summit with Uruguay, is no longer unbearable. A defeat at Italy will not cost the coach, but if after the summer the important qualifying teams against Argentina and Paraguay are lost, then the national union can sometimes say goodbye to Tábarez. Uruguay is a dramatic series. In the South American team, Chile was lost (3-1), Brazil (1-2) and Peru (2-1). Sunday Uruguay practiced against Ireland and also that encounter was lost. Despite a goal by José Giménez, Ireland won 3-1.
‘Ireland has earned a victory. They have made better use of the standard situations and, especially in the second half, we have done too little with the moments of dominance and ball possession. We did not have the strength needed to win this match, “admitted Tábarez afterwards. Another disappointment was the failure of Edison Cavani. “We are going to do research to get more information about his injuries. He felt pain after an effort and it’s going to be hard to help him with Italy. “It has now become known that Cavani has to pass the friendly interland. Earlier, Diego Godin and Luis Suarez were injured.

- Italy are unbeaten in eight matches ahead of their friendly with a Uruguay on Wednesday night and will be looking to secure their first win over Óscar Tabárez’s side since the 1990 World Cup. Italy have failed to win any of their subsequent four encounters with the South American outfit.
- Uruguay, however, come into this fixture in awful form. They’ve lost each of their last four matches and they will not be able to call upon the services of Luis Suarez. Edinson Cavani also a major doubt and the absence of both men would be a huge blow to their chances.
- Italy will also be depleted of their best players on Wednesday night so do not expect an easy win for Gian Piero Ventura’s men.
