Hertha Berlin vs Borussia Dortmund
Date: Friday, 19th January 2018
Kick off at 19:30 UK / 20:30 CET
Venue: Olympiastadion (Berlin).
The weekend action in the Bundesliga starts on Friday night and we have a mouth-watering match to look forward to as Hertha Berlin welcome Borussia Dortmund to the Olympiastadion.
Hertha Berlin looked like a team capable of challenging near the top of the Bundesliga earlier this season but have since dropped away. They come into this game in 11th place and even with a win, are unlikely to move far up the table.
Hertha BSC are placed eleventh in the league standings with twenty-four points from the first eighteen games. So far in the season they have won, drawn, and lost six games. In the previous rounded they ended their three-game unbeaten streak after losing to Stuttgart by the score of 1-0. Stark of Hertha scored an own-goal mid-second half, thus securing all three points for the opposing side.
Borussia Dortmund make the trip to the German capital having been held to a 0-0 draw at home by Wolfsburg last weekend.
That result means they won only two of their last thirteen competitive matches in all competitions. In the Bundesliga, Borussia Dortmund have won only two of their last eleven games and its easy to see why they have dropped so far behind Bayern Munich.
Borussia Dortmund hold the number four spot in the Bundesliga with twenty-nine points from eight wins, five draws, and five losses. They have managed to continue their unbeaten streak, as they have drawn in the previous round, having won two games before that. In a clash against VfL Wolfsburg there were no goals despite the numerous chances on both ends of the field.
