Scotland and England meet each other in Group F of the World Cup qualifier. The English have relatively little competition, but they have to continue to win their matches. Scotland struggles with Slovakia and Slovenia to place two. Can they stunt against their southern neighbors from the British continent?
Where the national teams of Wales, Ireland and even Northern Ireland have performed well lately, the Scotts can not compete with other British countries. Scottish football had a “glory time” in the last century. Of the World Cups between 1974 and 1998, only the 1994 World Cup was missed, and the Scotts were also present at the 1992 and 1996 ECs. However, after 1998, Scotland failed to place itself for a final tournament. Scotland targets Poule F in second place behind England. Currently they have two and one points lagging behind Slovakia and Slovenia, mainly because they lost expensive points against Lithuania (1-1).
Scotland has not played friendly matches in the run-up to the British derby. In the final qualifying match against Slovenia, the Scotts booked an important 1-0 victory through a goal of Chris Martin in the final phase. Coach Gordon Strachan is positively surprised by the enthusiasm of his team. “The players are in a good shape and we should use that as well as their enthusiasm. There are times when you’re a coach to inspire players, but the players inspired the whole staff this morning, “Strachan said in a press conference on Monday.
The team coach found the 3-0 defeat in the previous encounter against England a bit unfortunate. “Unfortunately, the three heads went all the way towards the ropes. The players performed, but left it in the finish. Our chances were like England, if not better, “Strachan looked back. The Scots have put their trust in Celtic’s sixth, who are in good shape and all play.

England goes on cruise control to World Cup 2018 in Russia. Despite the hassle surrounding the federal coachhood, the English in sports had hardly known any problems in the first five games. However, in the match against Slovenia (0-0) England made points, but as competition has already left the necessary points, that was not a real problem. England usually finds it easy to place for final tournaments, but the last success is already a long time ago. In 1996, the English won the semi-finals of the EC in their own country. After that, four quarterfinals followed, but this can hardly be seen as a success.
The most important absentee in the selection of coach coach Gareth Southgate is captain Wayne Rooney. “We have many players who play exceptionally well at Wayne’s place. Last March, I said he was playing a little bit of play. Now he has played some matches again, but we have played with Adam Lallana and Dele Alli, who have done very well for us. In addition, we have Marcus Rashford, the returning Harry Kane and Jermain Defoe, who did the best for us last while Jamie Vardy puts in an excellent form in the second half of the season. I can not do anything else. Other players are very good in shape and deserve to keep their place, “Southgate explained.
Center defender Michael Keane and midfielder Ross Barkley are missing due to injuries. Keane played against Lithuania in the base, but that was mainly due to the absence of Gary Cahill and Chris Smalling.
